Organic Haricot Beans – Truefood – 400g


Truefood Organic Haricot Beans are NON-GMO, sometimes referred to as Navy beans they are rich in minerals and protein making them ideal for those who follow vegan and vegetarian diets. A serving of beans contains no cholesterol, lots of complex carbohydrates and virtually no fat. In addition, beans are a good source of B vitamins, potassium and digestive health promoting fibre.

Haricot beans have a mild flavor with a buttery like texture, often used for baked beans, soups and cassseroles, they are small oval and creamy – white in colour.

Cooking instructions

To soak overnight Rinse and cover with water in a non-metal container. Leave to stand for 12 hours.

Quick soak Cover Haricot beans with water (about 2cm above the beans), microwave for 3 minutes on high and leave to stand for 30 minutes. Cook as described below.

Cooking method Rinse well, cover with generous amount of water and simmer gently for 1 ½ hours until done

Cooking tip Only mix in salt and vegetables when the beans begin to soften
